AGCO NEWS-New hybrid combine already winning awards! |
Published date November 11, 2009
“The potential to raise harvesting to a new level” – that was the verdict of the judges when the brand-new MF 9280 DELTA combine was awarded the prestigious Machine of the Year 2010 at Germany’s Agritechnica Show.
The MF 9280 DELTA (which will be available in autumn 2010 for the 2011 season) cleverly blends Massey Ferguson’s unrivalled experience in conventional threshing with its rotary separation expertise. Together, this technology offers high capacity, an exceptional grain sample and low power requirements. Tests have shown that the combine not only delivers top performance but uses 10% less fuel for the same output in equivalent conditions. In announcing the Machine of the Year, Dieter Daenzer from the independent jury of leading German agricultural journalists remarked: “The industry has been aware for some time that AGCO has committed substantial engineering and research and design resources into this machine. Everyone’s expectations have been high. We have to say that the new Massey Ferguson DELTA exceeds these expectations.”

VIKING NEWS-Mower wins new product award |
Now in their fifth year, the annual British Hardware Federation Awards recognise the stars of their trade, and the VIKING mower joins a prestigious line-up of past winners with the judges' comments: "This mower achieves a clean cut striped lawn comfortably and effortlessly. The self-propelled Vario drive petrol mower with ReadyStart and rear roller, offers easy handling, with a sturdy but lightweight chassis that guarantees excellent results. This mower ticked the boxes of functionality, usability, quality, value for money and selling power, with the proviso of "but works better than others." Speaking at the presentation, Sally-Ann James - Product Manager for VIKING lawn mowers said: "This award is particularly impressive and important to us, because it has been given by some of the toughest customers in the country : retailers. These are respected experts, who know products inside out. They will recognise benefits, and seize on any faults, so we accept the Award as a truly genuine measure of this mower's quality." The VIKING MB 545 VR mower was nominated for the Award by independent dealer and British Hardware Federation member, John Adamson of F G Adamson & Son, Swanland, East Yorkshire. Asked why he had nominated the VIKING mower, John said simply: "Because I like it." Commenting on his experience of the mower, he described how the first time he used it he thought, "That's different." "It felt solid in the hands and had good fittings. It's obviously been made for the customer, with the niggles you often find in mowers - like cables that get caught when you fold the handlebars, all tidied up." The VIKING MB 545 VR lawn mower is one of three roller models available in the range. With cutting widths from 43-53cm (17-21") these quality mowers are sure to impress you too. |

FENDT NEWS-Wheels and Track |
With the event “Young People meet Agricultural Engineering”, the trade journal top agrar offered some 20 young agricultural machinery enthusiasts the opportunity to get to know the major manufacturers in the industry closer. A team of young farmers and students were on the road with Challenger and Fendt in July. At the Agritechnica, the young people met each other again and, naturally, took the opportunity to visit Hall 9.
After a tour through the stand with Fendt Marketing Director Roland Schmidt, they discussed the experiences of their four-day trip, which was held under the motto “Wheel or Track”, with Sepp Nuscheler, Fendt Press Relations Officer, and Rasso Schatz, Challenger Sales Manager. The “Wheel or Track Tour” included factory visits and talks with operational managers of agricultural companies, where both Challenger tracked tractors and Fendt tractors are used in operation. On a farm in Thüringen, the participants tested both systems under different operating conditions. The results were clear: wheel and track Both systems have their advantages and complement each other perfectly. At the end of the tour in July of this year, the participants were invited to the Fendt works in Marktoberdorf. After a tour of the factory, the young people discussed topics concerning the agricultural equipment industry with the Fendt management, including the product line, the market trend as well as the trend in development. At the Agritechnica, the team expressed their warm thanks again for the trip. “It was just super. We had a great programme and were accompanied by really nice people. We were taken seriously, even at the highest level,” said Mattis Hellinger for the entire team.
