The Grubs Frostline Wellington Boots are manufactured using a super stretch Chloroprene material commonly used in Deep sea dry suits, this material has a 300% stretch and is covered with a 4 way stretch knitted nylon jersey which as suggested can expand not only in width but also height. This super stretch means the bootie can stretch up to 150% as a laminate with our Super-Dri, moisture wicking terry knit lining.
Grubs rubber footwear uses a self-insulating bootie construction which acts as a neutral medium between the wearer and the outside. The bootie is both waterproof and insulating and exceeds the long-term effectiveness of waterproof membranes and lofted insulations. These boots are waterproof to EN ISO 20344: 2004 5.7 standard.
The Grubs Frostline Wellington Boots have the following features:
- 5mm Insu-Foam Ultra – gives all round foot comfort and insulation and has a fine micro cellular structure, which stops heat transfer through its structure. The microscopic bubbles of air are so small that it’s waterproof even in 3.5mm thickness. It is super soft and super bouncy, and has a compression set of less than 7% verses 20-25% for other neoprene boots.
- The 6mm Nitrocell Footbed provides soft cushioning for an athletic shoe feel. A million microscopic nitrogen bubbles that insulate the wearer from cold surfaces.
- Underfoot chassis gives a sure footed platform.
- Hexsorb Technology absorbs heel strike shock for daylong comfort.
- The Superdri Lining – is hard wearing, wicks moisture away from the wearer’s foot to prevent a sweaty and uncomfortable feel. It is fungus and rot proof so will not smell like cotton-lined boots.
- The Trax outsole provides superior grip on a variety of surfaces, and the tread is designed to work with the action of the foot.
- Comfort Rating – -20ºc to +20ºc.
