Coronavirus Update 25/03/2020

We would like to take the opportunity to update all our customers on Thurlow Nunn Standen’s position regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are a family-owned business founded in 1875 which values their staff, customers and the local community beyond anything else.

Following the announcement by our Prime Minister on Monday evening, we made the decision yesterday to close all of our retail showrooms to the general public with immediate effect.

Whilst this was an easy decision to make, to protect the most important asset we have: our staff, we will be maintaining a fully functional part supply service to key account customers and those that are critical to food production in the UK. With immediate effect, we will be offering parts collection only from all of our 5 sites. We therefore request that our account customers requiring this type of support contacts their dedicated site in advance to place their parts orders. At the point of ordering, our parts team with confirm availability and the designated drop-off/collection point at that location.

• Field support services will continue. All of our sites have been instructed to restrict on-site workshop jobs to only necessary repairs thus allowing our teams to keep social contact to a minimum. Whilst we will endeavour to support our staff remotely, we will be asking our customers to support our team whilst in their care. All customers will be asked what processes they have put in place to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading and the health of their staff before we can allow our technicians to visit their site to carry out the job required.

• All Area Sales Managers (ASM) have been instructed to operate remotely and to speak to customers directly before any on-farm visits are undertaken. We would like to inform our customer base that all on-farm demonstrations or walk rounds will be put on hold until 14 April 2020, when we will carry out a review of business operations and the effects of the coronavirus. Our Area Sales Managers are set up to provide a video “walkaround” via CitNow of any stock or demo machine, new or used, so please call your ASM to discuss this or James Clark on 07798 585624 for used. Lastly, I can’t stress enough how important it is for us all to work together to adhere to Government advice and do what we can to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus. At the same time, we will strive to continue offering you, our valued customers, the support you need to continue contributing to the food chain.
